Rabat – The Court of Auditors organized, from 28 to 30 November in Rabat, the eighth meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals Control Commission of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI).
A press release from the Court of Auditors indicates on Sunday that, in addition to the representatives of the Court, took part in this meeting which was held face-to-face, the representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the State of Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Arab Republic of Egypt and Libya.
Representatives of the Office of Financial and Administrative Control of the State of Palestine participated in the meeting remotely, adds the same source.
In a speech delivered on her behalf by the Secretary General of the Court of Auditors during the opening session, Ms Zineb El Adaoui, First President of the Court, recalled the particular context of the organization of this meeting which is characterized by the global priority given to sustainable development objectives by ARABOSAI during its restructuring and the adoption of its 2023-2028 strategic plan, and by the conclusions of the general assembly of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions Public Finance (INCOSAI), held in Rio de Janeiro, from 07 to 11 November 2022, having enshrined the vital roles of Supreme Audit Institutions in helping countries prepare for and respond to emerging development challenges and make a difference in the lives of citizens.
The agenda of this meeting focused mainly on the indicators of the ARABOSAI strategic plan for the period 2023-2028, in relation to the sustainable development goals and related activities, as well as on the preparation of the operational plan. of the Commission for the Control of Sustainable Development Goals and the distribution of work and roles between the control institutions that are members of the said commission, underlines the press release.
It should be recalled that the Court of Auditors chairs the ARABOSAI Sustainable Development Goals Control Commission, in accordance with the decision of the General Assembly of the said organization at its fourteenth meeting held in Jeddah from October 25 to 27 2022.
