New York:Hollywood actor Danny Masterson has been found guilty in rape cases by the US court.
Both cases carry a jail term of up to 30 years. A large bench of 12 members passed the verdict following the hearing in the Los Angeles court on Wednesday. The ruling follows a complaint filed by three women who are former members of the Church of Scientology. Eight jurors on a bench of seven women and five men upheld the verdict. The jury found Masterson guilty on two of the three counts of rape filed.
The incident in question was during the period 2001-’03. Masterson is accused of drugging and torturing her at her home in New York. However, he has not been charged with supplying drugs. In 2017, when the ‘Me Too’ movement was in full swing, Masterson was first accused of rape. 47-year-old Masterson rose to fame with the sitcom series ‘That 70s Show’ released in 1998.
