Holy Ramadan: Upper part of Makkah’s Masjid al-Haram opens for pilgrims

Makkah | The upper part of the Haram was re-opened for worshipers due to the increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims to the Holy Haram with the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

The Haram is experiencing a good rush of believers now that permission restrictions have been waived for attending congregational prayers. Saudi Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Mohammad Al Bassami said that permission is required through the ‘Nuzuk’ or ‘Tawakalna’ application to facilitate the Umrah pilgrimage.

Areas around the Holy Kaaba, the first floor, third floor of the Haram and the roof of the Mataf have been fully allocated to pilgrims in coordination with the General Presidency. Maximum security will be ensured on entry and exit routes to the Haram. Bassami informed. He stated this in a press conference of Umrah security force commanders in Makkah.
