Life at the Green Lake

The Green Lake in Tragöß in Styria has become a place of worship – hardly anyone can escape the magic of this place. A lake that only fills up with meltwater from the mountains in summer and slowly drains away and disappears once more in autumn. Magical underwater worlds open up with trees and benches in the middle of the crystal-clear water. Documentary filmmaker Udo Maurer filmed this natural paradise for this ORF III Heimat Österreich production. It not only shows the natural splendor below and above the water level, but also accompanies people who are rooted here and whose center of life is Tragöß.
