Honda to stop selling its cars in Russia in 2022 – Auto – St Petersburg News

The Japanese corporation Honda will finally leave the Russian car market in 2022. As writes “Gazeta.Ru”, the flagship Pilot crossover is no longer supplied, and the latest deliveries of the junior CR-V will arrive in Russia within the next three months.

At the same time, Honda plans to continue servicing already sold cars, and will also keep sales of motorcycles, ATVs, motor boats, lawn mowers and snow removal equipment.

According to the press service of the Japanese automaker, the withdrawal from the Russian market is part of “Honda Motor’s automotive business development strategy aimed at restructuring operations amid ongoing changes in the global automotive industry.”

According to experts, the demand for Honda cars in Russia began to decline since 2015, after the devaluation of the ruble.
