Hondurans in Virginia develop devices to treat asthma – News Cholusat Sur

Thanks to a scholarship, they are about to become engineers in the area of ​​Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at the University of the Commonwealth of Virginia (Virginia Commonwealth University), located in Richmond, Virginia.

It was not easy, but perseverance and determination made each one overcome the selection phases to reach this university.

“Women’s education is very important to help our country. One of the purposes of my life is to help. I am very proud to have three Honduran women in the master’s and doctoral program in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering in my department”, says Karla Mossi, also a Honduran and director of the program.

The three Hondurans are Xiomara Owen, who will graduate in May of this year; Laura Vargas and Anya Maradiaga, students of academic excellence.

Laura and Anya are part of the group that develops devices to treat asthma and other respiratory diseases.
