Honor Magic5 Pro is one of the flagship smartphones launched this year that impressed the users with its comprehensive features.
The phone’s 50MP triple camera setup delivered great photos in all shooting situations during our testing, and now Honor is sharing some behind-the-scenes details about the Magic5 Pro’s camera development process and how it was tested in Honor’s R&D lab.
Honor’s dedicated camera lab can test a variety of shooting scenes including lighting conditions, shutter speed, and distance. Honor has embarked on an 18-month development process for the Honor Image Engine, which includes algorithm improvements and new source code for the camera on the Magic5 Pro.
Honor has also worked closely with Qualcomm to leverage the Snapdragon AI engine, resulting in increased data retention times.
Honor trained its AI network on more than 270,000 images using optimized algorithms for motion sensing, object recognition, and scene recognition.
Honor’s press release also mentions the Magic5 Pro’s increased autofocus speed, an increase of 245% over last year’s Magic4 Pro.
Honor also prioritized eye protection during the development of the Magic5 Pro, and received the first TÜV Rheinland friendly certification for blue light filtering and color temperature adjustment.
Magic5 Pro also features a new dynamic dimming feature developed using data from over 10,000 users. In addition, Honor has spent more than 20 million dollars on internal quality testing equipment for more than 200 certification testing standards.
