The fifth edition of the Cinemana International Festival, which was launched in the Musandam Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, honored the Syrian artist Ayman Zidane for the feature film “Days of Lead.”
Dr. Khaled bin Abdul Rahim Al Zadjali, Chairman of the Sinimana International Festival, said: “The festival aims to shed light on the cultural, tourism and economic movement in the Sultanate of Oman by holding festivals, hosting stars, and other accompanying activities and events. “With the aim of spreading the culture of cinema, and introducing society to the role of cinema in the cultural movement, in addition to highlighting young talents in the field of filmmaking and encouraging and developing creative content.”
The first day of the festival witnessed the screening of the feature film “Days of Lead,” produced by the General Film Corporation and written by Ayman Zidane in cooperation with Ahmed Adra, also directed and acted by Zidane, in addition to an elite group of Syrian actors.
The events of the film tell the story of a man who wanted to regain his social status after being retired, but at that moment, he faced several challenges, most notably the escape of his daughter on her wedding night, so he embarked on a journey to search for her in order to kill her, but during that journey, events change and force him to make concessions to pay the price. His cruelty and tyranny.
A group of Syrian stars participate in the work, including Saad Minna, Hazem Zidane, Gabriel Maleki, Sally Ahmed, Lama Baddour, Hossam Salama and others.
The festival, in which a group of leading Omani and international artists and directors participate, will be held during the period from the 28th to the 31st of this month, with 130 films participating, including 6 films in the field of feature films, and 11 films in the field of short films.
