Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 drop slightly in Quebec

Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 have fallen slightly in the past few hours, according to health authorities, who also reported four new deaths.

According to the report published on Tuesday, 1,280 Quebecers with COVID-19 were hospitalized, including 437 who are receiving care specifically related to the disease. This is a drop of four patients.

There is also a decrease of four people in intensive care, where a total of 30 patients were treated throughout the Quebec hospital network. Among them, 17 people are being treated due to the disease.

Of the four deaths announced on Tuesday, none have occurred in the past 24 hours. Three happened two to seven days ago and one more than seven days ago. Since the start of the pandemic, 18,101 Quebecers have lost their lives.

The number of officially registered COVID-19 cases remains relatively low, with 513 new infections, but this data should be taken with a grain of salt given that access to testing centers is limited. Quebecers also self-declared 27 rapid tests on Monday that turned out to be positive.

On the side of vaccination once morest the disease, 1429 additional doses were administered on Monday.
