Abidjan – Despite being outnumbered and thanks to two last-minute goals, the host team Ivory Coast advanced to the semi-finals of the African Football Cup. Interim team boss Emerse Faé’s team defeated Mali 2-1 (1-1, 0-0) after extra time in the quarter-finals in Abidjan on Saturday. Ivory Coast is in the semi-finals for the first time in nine years and will face DR Congo on Wednesday. The goal for Mali was scored by Salzburg legionnaire Dorgeles Nene.
