Judicial authorities confirmed on Wednesday the criminal origin of a car fire which spread to a house on Monday and completely destroyed it, said the spokeswoman for the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office.
A car parked under the carport near a house on rue des Taillettes, in Court-Saint-Étienne, caught fire around 2 p.m. on Monday. The disaster extended to the house which was completely destroyed, in the absence of the occupants who had gone on vacation.
A forensic expert was dispatched to the scene of the fire. His report is formal as to the voluntary origin of the fire, which confirms the suspicions expressed by the prosecution.
