Dubai United Arab Emirates (CNN)– The spokesman for the Houthi rebels in Yemen, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that the Houthi forces targeted a British oil ship in the Gulf of Aden, with a number of naval missiles, which led to its burning, according to what was reported by the Yemeni “Saba” news agency affiliated with the Houthis.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in a statement, on Friday evening, that “the Houthi naval forces carried out a targeting operation against the British oil ship MARLIN LUANDA in the Gulf of Aden, and the hit was direct, which led to its burning,” according to the statement.

The spokesman for the Iranian-backed Houthis pointed out that “the operation to target the British oil ship comes as a victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people and within the response to the American-British aggression against Yemen,” as he described it.

Yahya Sarie confirmed that “the Yemeni armed forces are continuing their operations in the Red and Arab Bahrain against Israeli ships or those heading to (Israeli ports) until the aggression stops and food and medicine are brought to the besieged Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,” according to what was reported by the “Saba” agency.
