With the coat racks that you receive in the fourth episode of Mission Sustainable Wardrobe, you can now make even more conscious clothing choices. Because I think it is not only important that you know which better options there are today, but also which stores you would rather avoid (if this is within your options). Some companies simply do not contribute or do not contribute enough to a better tomorrow. But of course, the choice is always yours. I wish you incredible success with it!

You can recognize fast fashion based on the following 5 characteristics:

  1. They have hundreds of different styles
  2. They have short lead times
  3. They use cheap materials, often of low quality
  4. They do promotions at regular intervals
  5. They are not transparent about their production chain

Beautiful, slow fashion brands with which I ended the episode:

  • I don’t know what: an originally Dutch clothing brand that was not so long ago taken over by Laurence from Leuven.
  • Comrades: a Belgian sneaker brand that challenges the status quo in the shoe industry and does not necessarily want to be seen as a sustainable brand, but above all a very hip shoe brand.
  • Ifeelnut: a Spanish clothing brand that was founded in 2012 and has resolutely opted for 100% Spanish production and 100% European materials since the beginning.
  • Kings Of Indigo: a Dutch denim label that makes eco-conscious jeans. The collections are largely made from recycled or organic cotton.

With my podcast “Sustainable Wardrobe Mission” I take you to the very beginning of my personal fashion mission, give you insight into my head and the clothing world and flood you with practical tips. Because 6 years ago I made a passionate decision: I would never buy fast fashion again. My biggest wish? That everyone becomes more of a clothing lover.
