This is all the more important when you imagine a Playoff exit from the defending champions in the semi-finals of conf ‘… We know that the wires can easily touch for Draymond, but the metronome of the Dubs seemed rather aware of the Issues tonight: 20 points at 7/11 shooting, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 5 ball losses. Raw figures which guarantee production but which – very often – are insufficient to measure the impact of this very special player.

Draymond is above all an offensive organizer: he brings creation by initiating most of Golden State’s actions. Whether it’s hand-to-hand play without the ball with the shooters to open them to 3-pointers or on short-roll (decision-making just after scrolling on a screen), Draymond is able to break through the defense thanks to his good ball control and his extraordinary game vision for an interior player. Tonight, he responded present in this area by finding a lot of teammates open to 3-pointers after making the difference. His 4 assists do not represent all his real contribution. On top of that, Green provided second-line home defense. Even if Unibrow (23 points at 10/18 shooting) logically dominated this racket before leaving the stadium because of a blow to the head -Draymond contested most of his shots including this one:

But the real unusual bonus is its contribution to the scoring. 20 points that clearly make the difference compared to what is expected of him. We saw him in full confidence not refusing any shot and aggressive from the start of the match by going on the line (5/5 in the exercise). If he maintains this concentration and this level of play, he can really change the situation in this series and make his people dream.
Perfect copy therefore rendered by the interior of the Warriors. We don’t expect much more, but not much less either: he will have to be present on Friday at the Game 6 to give Golden State a chance to snatch a final game in San Francisco.
