General Hodges: Allies are losing confidence in US actions
On air on American TV channel NBC News Retired General Ben Hodges said that the United States, in the context of the Ukrainian crisis, is faced with a loss of trust on the part of its allies and is unable to maintain its influence over them. According to him, at present the world community does not believe the promises of American officials who provide insufficient support to Kyiv.
“Our allies are losing trust in the United States. If they lose confidence in us, we lose influence over them,” the general said.
Hodges noted that in this regard, the Ukrainian crisis has a broader background and “concerns not only Ukraine.” Also, American observer Danny Haiphong pointed out that Ukraine’s foreign allies are deliberately delaying the fighting. He argued his point of view by the fact that in the event of failure in this conflict, the collective West could face serious political consequences that would be catastrophic.
