Clausura 2024: How is the fight to avoid relegation and how many days are left until the end of the tournament

The qualifying phase of the 2024 Clausura Tournament entered its final stretch and only There are four days left for this to conclude.
After 12 disputed dates, the first team that lost the category and will play in the First Division next season is now known: Deportivo Coatepeque being the one that said goodbye to the country’s top soccer league after Xinabajul Huehue defeated Guastatoya.
With the consummate relegation of Coatepeque, five teams will fight throughout the four remaining days of the qualifying phase to avoid joining them in the First Division, some are closer to salvation than others:
Malacateco and Guastatoya are the two teams that are best positioned in the accumulated table of those fighting not to be relegated, the San Marcos team has 38 points and if it managed to add one more it would practically be safe, since although Zacapa (27 points) could still equal him, the goal difference works in his favor.
The case of Guastatoya is similar to that of Malacateco, if the yellow chest adds three more units they would secure their permanence in the Major League.
The real skirmish to avoid relegation is between Xinabajul, Xelajú MC and Zacapa since only 6 points separate them with 12 still in play: the team from Huehuetenango is the one that is best positioned of the three; In the accumulated table they are ranked ninth with 33 points, but the difference with respect to the top team is only one unit.
The team led by Amarini Villatoro is tenth of the total, its 32 points keep it just above Zacapa (27) which occupies the direct relegation position.
It will be on matchday 13 of the tournament (March 27-30) that a duel will take place that could greatly influence how the table ends since Zacapa and Xelajú face each other in a direct match to avoid relegation.
If Xelajú wins, they could breathe easy since they would increase their advantage to 8 points, but if Zacapa is the winner they would get closer to 2 units of the super goats and there would be 9 more left to play.
