Most of the people in 2022 went to Abkhazia – 744.5 thousand people, although in January-March 2021 more Russians went there – 789.3 thousand people. Turkey came second in terms of the number of people who left — 363.8 thousand people compared to 468.3 thousand in the first quarter of 2021. But Egypt, which took third place, showed significant growth: almost 352 thousand people against last year 17 thousand. Air traffic between Russia and Egypt was limited.
The number of citizens of the Russian Federation who indicated the tourist and business purposes of their departure has grown significantly. The most popular countries for tourism were Egypt, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, tourist traffic to Turkey fell slightly, to Egypt it increased by 28 times, and to the UAE by 2.4 times.
