How much sugar is in common drinks?

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Next time you go grocery shopping, don’t forget to read the nutrition labels on the items in your cart to see which ones have the most added sugars.

Sugar-sweetened beverages are the main source of added sugars in the American diet. These sweetened liquids include regular soft drinks, fruit drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks and sweetened water.

The flavored coffees we bring on the way to work and the sweet drinks we order when eating out are considered sugary drinks too, and adding flavored sugar and creamer to coffee and tea at home counts as well.
