In times of digital wallets, having your cell phone stolen can mean much more than that. Even if you have a password, if they manage to unlock it and access your apps, they can take all the money from your account. To be more prepared against this situation, Mercado Pago added a new function: trusted person. This person will not be able to do anything other than report the loss or theft of your cell phone, they will not be able to enter your account or access the information.
I show you step by step how to configure it:
1-The first thing is to click on the hamburger menu (three lines) located at the bottom right of the screen.
2-Within this menu, we go to “Your profile”, an option that appears at the top.
3. Now you have to select the “Security” category.
4. Once inside “Security” you have to go to the “Trusted Person” option. By not having it configured, the application itself will show it highlighted.
5. Once there, the app explains in detail what this feature is about. Afterwards, we can enter the email of our trusted person.
6. And that’s it! In six simple steps you are protected against possible theft. Don’t forget to remind the person you trust to accept the request that will arrive in their mailbox.
