How to block messages from unknown numbers on WhatsApp?

Many users are worried about messages from unknown numbers on WhatsApp.

Many times these messages are from a friend whose number you don’t have, but mostly they are spam messages sent by marketing companies or fraudsters.

But the good news is that the Meta-owned messaging app is offering a solution.

In this regard, a new feature has been introduced in the beta version of WhatsApp which blocks messages from unknown accounts.

Beta users go to the privacy section in WhatsApp settings and enable the block messages from unknown accounts option by clicking on advanced.

After doing this, all messages sent from unknown accounts will be automatically blocked.

But this feature will not block all messages from strangers but is designed to prevent spam messages.

According to the company, this new feature will act as a temporary shield, especially when users are receiving a lot of messages from strangers.

Once the flood of messages has stopped, this setting will no longer block those messages.

That is, currently it would not be correct to call it the most effective means of blocking spam messages, but it is expected to be improved in the future.

As mentioned above this feature is only introduced in beta version so it is hard to say how long it will be available to all users.
