By default, it’s set to /Users/username/Downloads (that is, the traditional system Downloads folder, really), but you can easily change that if you prefer to put files on the Desktop (Desktop) or anywhere else.

With the app open, click on the gear (at the bottom of the screen). Go to Telegram » Preferences… in the menu bar or use the shortcut ⌘ command ,. Then select the “Data and Storage” tab. Click on “Download Folder”. After selecting the new location, double-click on it or click once and go to “Open”.
