The application Mail It’s built into iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. It allows, as the name suggests, you to receive, send and manage your email messages.
In the Mac app, you can choose which mailbox(es) you want to be notified, such as contacts on a VIP sender list, for example.

With the Mail app open, go to its settings. To do this, go to Mail » Adjust… in the menu bar or use the shortcut ⌘ command ,. Then, select the “General” tab and, next to “New message notifications”, use the drop-down menu to choose between:
- Inbox Only
- VIPs
- Contacts
- All Mailboxes
- Today
For notifications to be received, make sure the “Banners” or “Alerts” option is activated in the Mail notification settings. To do this, open System Settings, click on “Notifications” and “Mail”.
