After much waiting, Meta (ex-Facebook) finally launched the Threads, a social network whose main rival is Twitter. Like any new network, users are still slowly understanding how everything works.
One of the things that drew attention is regarding the deletion of your account. As it is directly linked to Instagram, the only possibility of deleting your profile on Threads is also deleting the Instagram account as a whole — something that is included in the terms of use of the social network, it is worth noting.
Despite this, you can still deactivate it normally without losing your Instagram account. See how to do it!
Open Threads on your iPhone, tap the icon represented by a little figure (in the lower right corner). Tap the two little lines (in the upper right corner). Go to Account » Deactivate profile . Select “Disable Threads Profile”.
The network makes it clear that this is temporary and that your information such as your profile, threads, replies and likes will be hidden until you reactivate your profile again by logging in.
Let’s see if, in the future, it will indeed be possible to independently delete Threads accounts from Instagram.
