How to disable HDR video playback on Instagram [iPhone]

If you use the Instagram To consume videos, you may have already come across a video that ends up making your iPhone screen brighter than usual. It turns out that this type of film is normally in HDR (High Dynamic Rangeor something like High Dynamic Range).

Despite its benefits, such as greater contrast and more vivid colors, it ends up letting the screen “pop”, increasing brightness — which can be uncomfortable for many people, especially in poorly lit environments.

With this in mind, Meta’s social network now includes an option to disable this in the iPhone app. See how to do it! ????

With Instagram open, tap your photo (in the bottom right corner), the three little lines (in the top right corner) and go to “Settings and privacy”.

In the “Your app and media” section, select “Media quality” and check “Disable HDR video playback”. That simple!
