How to disable playback in YouTube feed [iPhone e iPad]

O YouTube offers so much content that sometimes it’s hard to decide what to watch. To remedy this “problem”, the service allows you to watch, forward and backward the video while browsing the “Home” tab and the search results pages.

However, if you don’t want this behavior to continue to occur or you want to restrict it to only work when connected to Wi-Fi networks, there is a very simple way to do this.

How to Customize Playback in YouTube Feeds on iPhone/iPad

Open the YouTube app and tap your profile picture (in the top right corner). Then go to Settings » General » Playback in feeds and choose from “Always On”, “Wi-Fi Only” or “Off”.

On the web, playback occurs whenever you hover your cursor over the thumbnail of videos in the “Home” and search sections.

To disable this, open the YouTube website, click on your photo (in the top right corner) and “Settings”. Then select the “Playback and Performance” tab and disable “Inline Playback”.
