O iOS/iPadOS 17 and the macOS Sonoma 14 brought a really cool feature to FaceTime and other installed video applications: the ability to use the reactions through hand gestures.

Although it’s fun for calls with friends or family, this can become a problem for those who make a lot of video calls at work.

Fortunately, it is possible to disable this in a very simple way! ????

How to disable video call reactions on iPhone/iPad

With the video app open, open the Control Center on the device in question, tap the “Effects” box (in the top left corner) and uncheck “Reactions”.

How to disable video call reactions on Mac

Open your video calling app and, in the menu bar, click on the camera icon. Then click on “Reactions” so that it is unchecked (without being green).

With this, the effects will no longer be activated automatically during your video calls. ????
