How to disable read receipts for all contacts
Open the Messenger app, tap the button with three lines (in the top left corner) and the gear. Then go to Privacy and Security » Read receipts and disable the option “Show read receipts”.

Open Messenger and tap the name of the person you’re chatting with (at the top of the screen). Then, go to “Read receipts” and uncheck “Show read receipts”.
