How to Keep Grapes Fresh with Kangana: Traditional Afghan Food Preservation Method

KABUL, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) — “Kangana” is a traditional way of keeping food fresh among Afghans. It is made from mud that has been molded into a vacuum container. This kangana container can keep grapes fresh for several months.

Grape season in Afghanistan runs from June until September. By storing grapes in kangana containers in late September or early October. It will remain fresh until May of the following year.
