The Central Bank reported that a new banknote is already in circulation. It is about 2,000 pesos, made on a paper that has the same physical and chemical characteristics as those of the current family and has strict security measures. They can already be found in Neuquén. here some tips to identify which ones are fake.
The new banknotes were designed andn tribute to science and Public Health in Argentina with images of Dr. Ramón Carrillo and Dr. Cecilia Grierson and the Malbrán Institute. It includes specific identification elements for people with blindness, such as the tactile raised code that is located on both vertical edges.

On the paper:
1. Watermark: localized, molded and multi-tonal. It is observed against the light and reproduces the portraits of Dr. Ramón Carrillo and Dr. Cecilia Grierson.
2. Security fibers: Invisible and luminescent blue and yellow under ultraviolet light, they are randomly distributed on the paper.

3. Optical variability ink: image of the symbol internationally associated with medicine, located in the upper right corner of the banknote, it changes color from green to blue when the banknote is tilted and presents a three-dimensional dynamic effect.

5. Latent image: in the ornamental motif located in the lower right corner, the letters “RA” can be seen when looking at the banknote with grazing light.
