O Threads it still hasn’t managed to reach X (formerly known as Twitter) in terms of number of active users and popularity, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less interesting than Elon Musk’s rival.
To ensure your experience is the best it can be, be aware that you can limit who mentions you on the platform. In all, three options are available: “All”, “Profiles you follow” or “Nobody”. So, if you limit it, the other user will see that you don’t allow to be mentioned by everyone.

With Threads open on your iPhone, tap your profile tab (in the lower right corner), select the button represented by two little lines (in the upper right corner) and “Privacy”. Then, go to “Mentions” and choose one of the three available options.
Optionally, you can also reach that same section by tapping your profile icon and the globe (in the upper left corner).
