How to temporarily disable an eSIM on iPhone

2023-11-12 21:00:00

For some time now, Apple has allowed you to use two chips at the same time on your iPhone. Thus, it is possible to use more than one line on the telephone (whether for data or voice) and, therefore, maintain plans that can be divided between a personal and a business number, your number and a data plan purchased specifically for traveletc.

If you keep two numbers using electronic chips (eSIMs), be aware that it is possible to momentarily deactivate one of the lines without having to delete it from the device.

See how to proceed! ????

On the iPhone, open Settings, tap “Cellular” and one of the numbers, in the “SIMs” section. Then, uncheck “Activate This Line”.

Therefore, the number will be momentarily deactivated from the device. At any time, you can change your mind and go back to this same section and choose “Activate this Line”.

In the top bar, you can check if there are one or two active lines in the cell signal bar — the top one is the one currently being used.
