HTC will unveil its Meta Quest competitor next month, a helmet that does not lack interest.
HTC has big plans for CES, and that includes making an all-in-one headset official with support for the virtual reality and augmented reality. The company will officially announce this headset, which looks small and light, for the very first time next January 5but she provided The Verge a 3D rendering that shows a design like a big pair of glasses. The device, whose official name HTC still hasn’t released, also appears to have front and rear cameras.
These cameras are expected to be key components of HTC’s plan to provide color passthrough video. As with the Meta Quest Pro and Pico 4, so you’ll be able to have a colorized version of the physical world around you without having to remove the headset. It should also allow HTC to offer more immersive mixed reality experiences than can be had with a black and white passthrough video stream. HTC also explains that his headset has a battery life of two hours on a single charge, with joysticks with six degrees of freedom and tracking of hand gestures. The headset can work independently, but you can also hook it up to a PC for the most resource-intensive VR games. You can use the headphones for exercise, for pure entertainment or for your professional activities, the possibilities are endless.
No one knows at this stage if eye movement tracking will be included, but there is a depth sensor that could offer a clearer mapping of the user’s environment. HTC also told The Verge that the headset will protect user privacy by storing data on an encrypted local partition. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
