The Herdern high-rise of the Migros Zurich cooperative is being renovated after more than 60 years. However, the construction site should not be clad in any way: Migros is packing the 56 meter high building in such a way that it looks like the well-known blue Migros Ice Tea. “We want to make people in Zurich happy with it,” says spokeswoman Gabriela Ursprung.
The idea came from a creative employee. «He considered that the high-rise had the format of an Ice Tea Tetrapak. After he discussed and visualized this in his team, we decided to implement the input.» The 17-storey building will be completely clad by the end of the month. The construction site will probably remain wrapped up like the cult drink until the end of February 2023.
