In the bright light, the hula hoops sparkle even more colorfully and gaudy – regardless of whether they are monochrome, striped or completely covered with glitter. The tires are available in a wide variety of colors and sizes at the Viennese adult education center in Floridsdorf. They’ll be in use in a few minutes, but it’s still quiet in the gym. Three course participants come into the room on time, to the minute. A total of six women are taking part in the seven-week course. Not much more is possible. There is not enough space. “Each individual participant needs around 10 to 15 square meters of space. It quickly gets cramped in a 70 square meter room,” says course instructor Vesna Schramm.
