St. Petersburg (US) ∙ Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in Florida following Hurricane Ian. As the wind, rain and floods worsened, electricity was cut off for about 3 lakh people. More than 2000 flight services have been cancelled. People were evacuated, including in the Tampa area. ‘Ian’ is classified as Category 4, which is extremely strong in terms of wind speed. The hurricane hit the US coast after wreaking havoc in Cuba.
