Nearly 3,000 Quebec homes were still plunged into darkness overnight from Sunday to Monday, due to power outages on the Hydro-Quebec network.

The state-owned company reported in its report at 2 a.m. some 2,938 households without electricity, the majority of them in the Laurentides and Estrie regions.

Thus, nearly 1,000 Hydro-Québec customers were waiting to be reconnected in the Outaouais, while 748 families in the Eastern Townships were in the same situation.

Nearly 500 households are still affected by power outages in the Montreal region, while regarding 350 Hydro-Quebec customers were in the same situation in Lanaudière.

In addition, more than 200 households in the Capitale-Nationale and Montérégie remained in the dark waiting for the restoration of electric power, according to figures from Hydro-Québec.

Hydro-Québec agents were still busy Monday morning to resolve the problems inherent in the approximately 50 interruptions that have still not been restored in the province.
