Hydroclimatic prospects for the current quarter of the year will be analyzed this Friday

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Within the framework of monitoring, surveillance and prediction of hydrometeorological conditions that affect both Paraguay and the region, experts in the area will analyze this Friday 5 the climatic behavior of the current quarter, which runs from July to September.

The Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH), dependent on the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DINAC), located in the city of Luque, coordinates inter-institutional efforts through the Climate Outlook Forum. Later, at 2:00 p.m., there will be a press conference to report on trends and projections.

The Forum is held with the aim of assessing the current situation of hydrometeorological variables and projecting their evolution for the next three months. Academic, productive, energy generation, defense, transportation and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) entities are participating in this inter-institutional effort.

Community resilience is based on knowledge of threats and vulnerabilities, as well as effective risk management, achievable through the collaboration of all critical actors in society.

The event is a first step towards the implementation of “early warnings for all”, facilitating informed decision-making and optimising responses to possible climate contingencies. The dissemination of the results is expected to provide crucial information for preparation and adaptation to future climate conditions.
