8 years ago, Hyperx released the Cloud II, which was a huge sales success. Due to the great acceptance of the gamer headset by the players, the company could not fail to develop a new generation of the headset. With the launch of the Cloud III, HyperX Director of PC Gaming Marcus Hermann says, “The HyperX Cloud has always represented the most comfortable gaming headset on the market, and with the Cloud III, we’ve taken the time to dig deeper. on what gamers love about the Cloud II and improve every aspect of the new headset. We’ve improved comfort with new materials and fit. We’ve improved the sound by re-engineering our drivers and tuning. noise cancellation and an internal metal mesh filter.”

As you can see in the image above, the HyperX Cloud III is an exclusively wired headset, but it can be used via USB or 3.5mm TRSS (4 poles) in the CTIA standard. The cable is soldered into the left ear cup of the headphone and has a 3.5mm plug and is 1.2m long, which may or may not be an issue depending on where you want to plug it. If you want to use the USB connector, you will have to connect an extra 1.3m cable (comes in the product box) that has a 3.5mm input and a USB-C connector and can be converted to USB-A through a adapter also included.

Through the USB and 3.5mm connections of the Cloud III, it is possible to connect the headset to the following devices:

  • PC (desktop ou notebook)
  • PlayStation (PS4, PS5)
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Mobile (Smartphone)
  • Tablet
  • Controle do Xbox (Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One)
  • Controle do PlayStation

In terms of structure, HyperX Cloud III has more generous padding on the headband (arc), but still maintains the use of pvc/pu material that mimics leather, including the ear pads (“cushions”). Its weight is approximately 300g and it has a removable microphone, making it easy to store the headset without having to fold it.

Novo fone in-ear Bluetooth TWS HyperX Cirro Buds Pro

HyperX Cirro Buds Pro is a TWS Bluetooth in-ear headphone with ANC (Active Noise Canceling) and IPX4 certification, which attests to its resistance to sweat and water splashes. Its battery life can reach 7 hours with ANC turned off, but when activating “game mode”, which probably uses active noise cancellation and tries to reduce latency [1] using a lower bitrate (example: 320 kbps), the duration drops to four hours.

[1] Latency is the time it takes to start the process until its execution (example: you press the button to play a video and it takes a few seconds to start).

Fully charging the headphones’ battery takes about 40 minutes while the case’s battery takes 2 hours. In terms of Bluetooth audio codec, only SBC is supported, which is the most basic of all, as you can see in our article. The Bluetooth standard of Cirro Buds Pro is 5.2.

Which of the two headphones to choose?

Depending on the game, latency can be a decisive factor between victory and defeat, as some actions happen in a few milliseconds. Thinking along these lines, the TWS HyperX Cirro Buds Pro is not indicated for these cases, as the Bluetooth wireless transmission technology does not have a latency low enough for competitive games. In this case, the HyperX Cloud III headset is indicated.

Release and availability

The HyperX Cloud III headset was released on May 30, 2023 for $99.99 and is now on sale at HyperX official US website. The in-ear Bluetooth TWS HyperX Cirro Buds Pro will be released in June 2023 for $79.99. There is still no forecast for the launch of these models in Brazil.
