Hyundai Engineering & Construction, South Korea’s leading construction company, announced Sunday that it has received an order for a 1.9 trillion won (US$1.4 billion) railway line in the Philippines.

“Hyundai Engineering and Construction will build a 56-kilometer railway linking the capital, Manila, and the southern city of Calamba over the next six years,” South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency quoted a company statement as saying.

The company said it had recently received notification that it had obtained an enforcement order from the Philippine Department of Transportation.
