Hyundai Introduces Plug & Charge Function for Automatic Vehicle Identification at Charging Stations

Hyundai is equipping the first battery models with a “Plug & Charge” function, which enables automatic vehicle identification at appropriately equipped charging stations. A special charging card or app is no longer necessary. As soon as the car is connected, the charging process starts. To do this, customers must activate the Plug & Charge function once in their “Charge my Hyundai” account. A contract certificate will then automatically be downloaded to your car the first time you visit a Plug & Charge station. This only takes around ten seconds. You will still only be billed once a month.

The first Hyundai model that is compatible with Plug & Charge is the Ioniq 6. The system is currently compatible with the charging stations from Ionity and Aral Pulse. (aum)
