Al-Marsad newspaper: The retired artist, Athar Al-Hakim, responded to the rumors of her death, noting that she was not sick until such rumors came out.
She said, “I am not afraid of death. Death is a journey that we must take. This is the bridge that leads us to paradise.”
Athar Al-Hakim added in her statements to Cairo 24: Some have forgotten that I have been retiring for years and have not appeared, even if honored, because I have retired from all kinds of presence, lights, programs and phone calls.
She continued: I am saturated and these things no longer attract me.. I pray to God to prove me, and to live a normal, quiet life away from the noise, I go to the cinema and the club and take care of my home and my worship.
Athar Al-Hakim decided to retire from acting in 2009, that is, over a period of regarding 11 years, and concluded her artistic career by participating in the series “The Stretched String”, in which she participated with a large group of the most important and brightest stars, which was written by Imad Nafeh and directed by Khaled Bahgat.
