“I don’t see a good future for him”

L-Gante has been detained for more than three months in a case that accuses him of various crimes, including unlawful deprivation of liberty. Throughout this period, he has had three different lawyers defend him, and Alejandro Cipolla, the first lawyer to represent the musician in this case, made a somber statement about his legal future.

In an interview in Show Partners, Cipolla expressed concern about the legal situation of L-Ghent. The musician’s former lawyer was critical of the artist’s defense and prolonged detention, even though he does not consider it a procedural danger.

“The truth is that I see it bad, dark. I think there was no defense. It seems to me that there was an excess and no one thought about the logic that did not indicate that an artist could be detained for so many days,” the lawyer began by saying, in dialogue with the El trece cycle.

Cipolla argued that the musician could have benefited from alternative measures, such as house arrest with an electronic bracelet. Furthermore, he assured that L-Gante does not represent any procedural danger and continued: “It seems to me that it is an abuse of Justice, a change or a message to society. “If one begins to analyze absolutely all the cases in which famous people are involved, there are worse cases, with worse accusations, and even with dead people, where there are no detainees.”

The lawyer also referred to his experience defending L-Ghent, recalling that he requested a change of legal qualification in the case, which was finally granted. Cipolla defended his actions and pointed out that, despite the criticism he received, time proved him right.

“What the judge said in the last resolution, if I’m not mistaken, is that the presentation of the change in legal qualification was poorly done. Luckily, it was proven that I requested the change of legal qualification and they gave it to me, as well as the cancellation that I had in a few days. They said that he was in prison because of me, that everything was done badly. What happened? Time proved me right,” he remarked.

Additionally, Cipolla criticized L-Gante’s mother, Claudia Valenzuela, for questioning his work as a lawyer and for not continuing to seek justice for her son after his departure from the case.

“The mother was tearing up saying that I was wrong and that all the other lawyers who came were perfect. Her son is still detained and I didn’t see her complaining or asking for Justice anymore. The truth is that I don’t see a good future for him. I hope that I am wrong and Cassation comes to reason, grants the release and this remains nothing more than an abbreviated sentence, with a suspended sentence,” she predicted.
