“I find it in bad taste”: the controversial video in which Paulo Iglesias plays a voter for Rejection

A wave of comments was generated by the comedian Paulo Iglesias after publishing a controversial video on his social networks.

Playing a Rejection voter, the artist shared ironic responses after being asked about his decision to lower his finger on the proposal prepared by the Constitutional Convention.

“I have two cell phones, so according to the new constitution they were going to take one away from me,” said Iglesias’s character.

Then, he explained that “I always go to the bar and I have two pompadours. According to the new constitution they were going to take one away from me, so I was going to take less.”

Asked if he read the draft of the CC, the “interviewee” replied that “I didn’t read a single page… if I don’t read the newspaper, I don’t even read the WhatsApp memes, what am I going to be reading constitutions.”

Then, he indicated that “I am married, but I have a lover and with the new constitution they were going to take my lover away from me. I make love twice a day, so with the new constitution they were going to take one away from me. I am not hu…”.

“Besides, I occupy two parts of my brain, and with the new Constitution they were going to take away one half, so there would be more hue… still, that’s why I reject it,” he concluded.

reactions

As expected, Iglesias’ video sparked debate on social networks. While some users explained that it was just humor, others directly criticized the comedian.

“Uuuuffffff how pathetic this is, as well as boring, a gratuitous insult to people”, “I voted I Approve and although I do believe that there was a grotesque campaign of misrepresentation and misinformation, it seems to me in bad taste to make fun of people in that way ”, “This is not right, it is one thing to show the testimonies of people and another this. It was necessary to show the disinformation of the right, not ridicule them” and “When moral superiority and arrogance are disguised as humor”, were some of the reactions.
