Not discriminated against in any way
‘Till now I have not faced any discrimination from the film. I have not been discriminated against because of gender or anything else. Just because it didn’t happen to me doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen to others. But now people in cinema have a clear understanding of equality. Everyone has treated me very politely…’
Nothing is done expecting an award
It was a big shock to get the award for the first film itself. It was only seen as a signal; As a sign of being on the right track. And none of the roles I did were done with the expectation of an award. We don’t think awards are a factor that determines our ability,’ says Rajisha. ‘I haven’t marketed myself yet. No agency or manager. I am a person who believes that if our work is good, people will see it and new films will come.’
I don’t cry in every movie
I don’t do films in a pattern of crying and being strong. No one becomes strong just by crying. In most of the films I do, the story travels through my character, so you feel that way. I’m not afraid of being typecast. I love to do all kinds of characters. I like commercial movies but I don’t want to be just an eye candy.
