The news that broke a month before the European elections is making waves, i.e. the investigation by the Genoa DDA which led to the house arrest of the governor of Liguria Giovanni Toti and his chief of staff Matteo Cozzani. Measures against eight other people including Paolo Emilio Signorini, former president of the Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea, in prison on charges of corruption, also house arrest for Aldo Spinelli, entrepreneur in the logistics and real estate sector, accused of corruption towards Paolo Emilio Signorini and president Toti.

“For me every Italian citizen is innocent until proven guilty, in Bari, Turin, Genoa and everywhere, so I don’t comment”; says the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport and deputy prime minister, Matteo Salvini, on the sidelines of an inspection of the Aler houses in via Salomone in Milan on the arrest of the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti, under house arrest for corruption. “I’m sorry, I myself am on trial and I risk going to prison because I blocked the landings.
