Even if you don’t live in Vienna but outside of Vienna, you’re probably familiar with “Gfrett”, “Gspusi” or “a Eupritige mit an Tüpflerten” (the latter is supposedly Viennese sausage stand jargon for a Käsekrainer with sweet mustard). With “harb”, “Mapsn” or “Schasklappersdorf” it gets more complicated, but not a problem, because the Great Dictionary of Viennese by Robert Sedlaczek is a new, excellent reference work.
