“I thought about changing the country, because I understand that it will only be more difficult in the future.” Kostyukovich about the fact that her duet with Bryukhanov broke up – Figure skating

Russian figure skater Polina Kostyukovich said that she was considering moving to another country after her duet with Alexei Bryukhanov broke up.

Kostyukovich won silver and bronze at the World Junior Championships paired with Dmitry Yalin. With Bryukhanov, she became the bronze medalist of the Junior Grand Prix stage.

– With Lesha, we broke up almost after the Russian Championship. Nothing led to this, there were no prerequisites. We talked about new programs, plans. We moved to Moscow, and this season was very incomprehensible, new for us and not very successful.

Thoughts that this is possible, visited me. When everything is fine, and there is nothing to think about. And when it’s bad, you start looking for problems and want to solve them. As I understand it, the Figure Skating Federation told Lesha that they did not see any prospects in this duet. He said he would think about these words. Of course, it hurt me.

In the end, he decided that it would be better that way. Such a story turned out, there was no point in talking further. After that, everyone has their own path. After his words, I thought about changing the federation, because I understand that it will only be more difficult in the future.

– Does the federation often give such “recommendations” or is this an exception to the rule?

– Each person has his own head on his shoulders, and he does as he sees fit. Any person, whether it’s a federation or mom and dad, can give advice. What you listen to and how you do it is everyone’s choice.

Lesha decided to listen to the opinions of other people who, in his opinion, know. Everyone has their own life, and I have no right to condemn anyone. I can only draw conclusions.

– Do you have any plans, given your thoughts about changing the federation?

– Now I’m on vacation from all this, I’m trying to move away. Returning to Moscow, I will think in the direction of another federation.

It will be difficult to play for Russia now. Most likely, you will just have to wait, think what and how. So far, no one has written about the partnership.

– How do you yourself feel the opportunity to skate for another country, is there any discomfort or is it important to compete?

– I want to skate at the international level, I didn’t think about what uniform and flag I have at the moment. When this happens, most likely, I will feel something. But sitting is not an option for me either. Here you need to understand what you want, – said Kostyukovich.
