Ibrahim Nour El-Din issued a ruling Summit match Al-Ahly and Zamalek issued an official statement on their official page on the social networking site Facebook to talk about the details of their management of the summit match.
The text of Ibrahim Nour al-Din’s statement was as follows:
I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to all Egyptian fans, the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, the Referees Committee, and the boards of directors of Egyptian clubs in general.
I especially thank the two boards of directors of the two poles of Egyptian football, for whom I have full appreciation and respect, for accepting to manage the match with an Egyptian refereeing team, and I thank them for their support, assistance and praise after the Egyptian summit match.
I carefully followed the statements that were misunderstood in some media outlets and whose goal was to smear my name, raise controversy against me, and involve me in many unreal and unjustified matters.
I would like to clarify that the summit match is one of the largest and most prestigious derby matches in the country, the Arab world, and Africa, even if it was friendly. Therefore, assigning it to any referee was not in honor of him because it is not a field of experiments or a small match. Rather, assigning it to me or to any Egyptian referee is conclusive evidence of… He is confidently capable of managing the match in an honorable manner for Egyptian football in general, in addition to the fact that the referee who manages it is as important as the event.
From the first moment the launch of all local competitions, all Egyptian football officials strive to organize all matches in a manner consistent with the development taking place in the football system in general.
Therefore, it was necessary to clarify that what was being raised about the two teams’ positions in the Premier League competition table was handled incorrectly, because I was clarifying that the two teams’ position in the league in no way diminishes its importance to everyone, whether inside or outside Egypt, but rather it is less sensitive than the matches. The deciding factor to determine the champion of the competition and everyone knows that.
Regarding what was said about my decision to retire from arbitration at the end of the current season, there is no basis in truth, because I made this decision with all my will because I am convinced that this is the right time.
It was necessary to choose the appropriate method for the entity in which I grew up, which is considered the godfather of football, which is the Egyptian Football Association and the Referees Committee, and inform them, and agree between us on the ideal way to announce my decision to retire, because it is my duty to do so, after submitting my arbitration letter with all honesty, sincerity and respect.
May God grant us success and help in what comes. Long live Egypt.”
Zamalek won over Al-Ahly by two goals to one during the match that brought them together yesterday evening, Monday, at Cairo Stadium, which was postponed from the tenth week of the local competition.
Zamalek took the lead with a goal from Saif Al-Jaziri in the 44th minute, and Ahmed Abdel Qader equalized for Al-Ahly in the 74th minute, before Al-Jaziri added the second goal for Zamalek in the 87th minute.
With this result, Zamalek’s balance rises to 21 points from 13 points and occupies tenth place, while Al-Ahly’s balance freezes at 21 points from 11 matches and occupies ninth place.
