The World Cup trophy was given a rousing reception in the capital city. At Mukola St. Thomas Central School, the children and teachers welcomed the ICC World Cup Cricket Trophy with joy. The trophy reached the school at 10 am yesterday. The cup was seen and the children cheered, accompanied by a band. The school yard looked like a World Cup match was taking place.
The trophy was taken to the school yard and put on display for all to see. Enthusiasm erupted as school students danced to the theme song of the World Cup. After the reception, there was a rush to take a photo with the trophy. The trophy display continued till three in the evening.
The trophy tour was organized as a private function without informing BCCI and KCA. Apart from the school students, no one from outside attended the reception. A reception will be held for the trophy tomorrow at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kochi. After that he will be taken to Ludhiana.
