In the first period, it was really a one-goal game. Luleå won the shootout 20-5 and it is only Modo’s skilled goalkeeper, Andrea Brändli, who made this not already decided here.
– It’s a class difference. That it’s only 1-0 is completely crazy. Brändli has been incredibly skilled, says SVT Sports expert, Maria Rooth, in the first break.
In the middle act, Modo equalized. This before Luleå’s star Petra Nieminen deliciously made it 2-1 through following an icy free draw with the goalkeeper. Three minutes later, Linnéa Johansson made it 3-1.

In the third period, it was initially Luleå that looked for further goals to definitively close the match.
But when it didn’t happen, Wilma Sundin was instead able to elegantly control the reduction to 2-3 with ten minutes left.
